Drug Interaction between Ibuprofen and Vinpocetine

Ibuprofen is an NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) used as an analgesic, antipyretic and antiinflammatory agent.
Vinpocetine is a vincamine alkaloid used in the management of senile dementia by improving blood flow to the brain and enhancing memory. It has also been used to prevent and reduce the chance of disability and death from ischemic stroke.

The concomitant use of both Ibuprofen and Aspirin can lead to a moderate drug interaction. This is because Vinpocetine might slow down blood clotting. In addition to the antiplatelet activity of Ibuprofen (due to COx inhibition), the chances of bruising and bleeding is significantly increased.
Other NSAIDs that can cause similar interaction include diclofenac, aspirin, naproxen, etc.

This is considered a moderate drug interaction in which close monitoring is advised.
